Meet Aimee Hammer, PhD
Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Licensed Psychologist
Understanding how your mind works, or your child's, is one of the most useful things a family can have. I evaluate children, teens, and young adults ages 5 to 25 who have questions about autism, ADHD, learning disorders, giftedness, and intellectual disability. My goal is never just a diagnosis. It's a clear, usable picture of strengths and challenges that opens the door to the right support, accommodations, and advocacy.
Training and Experience
PhD, Kent State University
Clinical internship, University of Alabama at Birmingham
Two-year fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology, Indiana University School of Medicine
Pediatric neuropsychologist at Phoenix Children's Hospital since 2023, where I serve as Education Chair for the Division of Neuropsychology and supervise doctoral trainees
Working toward board certification in clinical neuropsychology
My Approach
I see assessment as more than the report at the end. Testing itself can be a chance for insight, so I work to make an evaluation something we do together rather than something done to you or your child. Families and young adults leave with answers, and also with a deeper understanding of how they learn, think, and experience the world. That understanding is the foundation for real advocacy at school, at work, at home, and in the years ahead.
Outside the Office
I grew up in Arizona and am proud to serve families in the state I call home. Outside of work, my partner and I love to travel, and our two dogs, Chief and Zeb, keep life full and active.
